Ghazaleh EA is a clinical pharmacist and medical affairs professional currently serving as Associate Director with the Global and US Medical Affairs team at AstraZeneca.
Ghazaleh began her career in medical affairs as an intern consultant at COMPASS Medical Affairs Consulting, providing medical and scientific expertise to industry professionals. She then gained further experience as an Oncology Medical Affairs intern at Bayer. At the Pharmaceutical Advertising Advisory Board (PAAB), she served as a reviewer, overseeing the promotional review of 45 products across several therapeutic areas, including Oncology, Immunology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, and Neuropsychiatry. Additionally, she leads a global initiative at the Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS) to engage, empower, and educate the next generation of Medical Affairs professionals.
Ghazaleh remains actively involved in clinical pharmacy practice at the hospital, providing direct patient care in various clinical areas such as oncology, cardiology, infectious diseases, and internal medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia and a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Toronto.
In her new leadership role as Communications Lead, Ghazaleh looks forward to collaborating with the OPMA board members to facilitate networking and professional success pathways in the pharmaceutical industry in Canada.
