  Dr. Gorfinkel graduated from McGill University and completed her post graduate training at the University of Toronto where she was named Intern of the Year. Following this she became a Clinical Instructor in Family Medicine at the University of British Columbia, maintained a family practice, and served assessing women in the emergency room on the Sexual Assault Service at Shaughnessy Hospital (now the BC Women’s Hospital). She moved to Toronto where she maintains a full time general practice and participates in clinical research. In the past 15 years she has participated in over fifty Phase 3 clinical trials examining various aspects of primary care including vaccination, hypertension, migraine headaches and other topics relevant to family medicine. She is actively involved in teaching undergraduate students as well as training future medical office assistants. She feels that it is a great honor and privilege to serve as a physician. She endeavors to provide the care which promotes patient empowerment through imparting knowledge.

  I have over 31 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and have held a number of roles in training, sales, management and global commercial excellence. I truly enjoy leading teams of people who bring diverse talents and skills to the table as well as those who love to challenge conventional thinking and search for innovative solutions. I love working with people who will challenge me and push my thinking and action to new levels.

  Phil obtained his BSc.(Pharm.) from the University of British Columbia, his MBA from McMaster University and his PharmD from the University of Washington.
  Phil also has extensive experience in health policy, having worked as a consultant with the Ministry of Health Services, Government of British Columbia, in the area of Formulary Management and Special Authority. This experience has given him insights into current hot button issues such as health system sustainability, National Pharmacare and the optimal use of medication.

He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Pharmaceutical Marketing Association and a Senior Marketing Advisor to Corozon Consulting, which is a Canadian pharmaceutical consulting firm, providing front-line solutions to the Canadian pharmaceutical industry.
